Hong Kong - Employment - Assistant Communications Manager (Ref.: HKACM-COM-O1021)

JOB SUMMARY:

Based on Orbis’s development objectives and communications plan, the incumbent develops and implements approved communications projects. He or she should maintain excellent media relationships and generate new GIK partnership with media partners/social institutions/event channels that can increase Orbis exposure and fundraising opportunities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop long range GIK partnership goals. Specifying the strategies and actions to achieve.
  2. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with media partners, government officials and healthcare journalists and use these relationships to develop new fundraising and branding opportunities.
  3. Plan, direct and manage Orbis campaigns, event activities and related editorial pitch to hit Orbis media clipping target.
  4. Monitor surroundings and social listening to detect communications crisis. Delve into information to identify groups and audiences for potential challenges, provide scenario paints, and develop the best way to prevent Orbis from cyber-attack.
  5. Maintain media databases and achieve GIK revenue target.
  6. Compile regular PR measures. Translating the statistical data into meaningful reasons, underlying principles or facts of information that can inspire the team.
  7. Develop and supervise a digital junior – provide coaching, guidance, and strategy support to ensure the junior can improve the setting performance and expand Orbis’s online presence.
  8. Assist Director, Communications and Communications Manager to develop different communications material and related Orbis works.
  9. Provide team support and ad hoc communications work when required.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree majoring in language, journalism, mass communication or other related disciplines
  • 7 years or above for working experience in media/PR/communications.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, preferably with keen interest in creative writing
  • Skills in media liaison, event planning, execution and budget control is a plus
  • Quick in thinking and response, proactive and creative
  • Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and respect deadlines
  • Knowledge of MS office applications, photoshop and video editing,
