Hong Kong - Employment - Senior Development Manager

Strategically plan, manage and execute Orbis’s fundraising events and merchandise sales; explore opportunities to improve the existing events and develop new initiatives in a timely and cost-effective manner to ensure that maximum funds are raised.


  • Collaborate closely with different fundraising teams to develop appropriate events/campaigns that help achieve respective fundraising targets and event objectives including but not limited to donor experience and operation efficiency.
  • Initiate innovative ideas and make recommendations to improve the existing fundraising events/campaigns and develop attractive initiatives with interesting elements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to maximize potential partnership of the events and identify solicitation opportunities to achieve maximum fundraising results.
  • Develop and manage budget for assigned fundraising events and merchandise sales campaigns, and ensure all initiatives are executed within the designated budget parameters and maximize effectiveness of investment.
  • Prepare proposal and financial/evaluation reports on all fundraising events and merchandise sales campaigns.
  • Work closely with team members in managing vendors and contractors to deliver high quality events or merchandise items; and designing manpower plans and logistics plans to facilitate their smooth execution.
  • Constantly review and refine, if necessary, the protocols and procedural manuals for all fundraising activities and events to uphold their standard.


  • University graduate preferably in event management, business administration or equivalent
  • At least 10 years’ solid experience in organizing or managing events with no less than 5 years as managerial role


  • Excellent event management and organization skills with the ability to develop meaningful partnerships and efficiently manage different vendors
  • Strategic thinking, aggressive & result-driven mindset, and pro-active planning abilities
  • Proven experience in managing complex events simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain professional maturity and composure under stressful and emergent situations
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills in order to assess risks and make good judgement
  • Solid experience in going after revenue targets
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills
